I know a lot of you have been eagerly waiting for my next installement in SCC and my dyno results. I also know a lot of you were looking foward, as was I in seeing the car run Dec 1st in Bakersfield. Unfortunatly there will be a considerable delay in getting the car up and running as I was involved in an accident in the car. I was doing some final ECU tuning at JWT. Clark Steppler and I were returning from a test drive. A car slowed in front of me to enter a business driveway and I slowed slightly to give him a little breathing room, then WHAM. I got rear ended by a lady in a Nissan truck while I was still rolling! She was distracted, in a hurry to do errands and I think on a cell phone and tried to change lanes, misjudging my speed by a mile. It was a pretty hard hit but the structural foam I injected in the chassis and the Do-Luck rear ladder bar did it's job and the frame damage is sort of minor. The fact that I was going about 10-15 mph helped also. The quarter panel is buckled and the unibody split on several couple of seams. The wheelwell split down the middle, and my B&B exhaust took a hit might be pranged. My brand new JDM tailights got toasted. Clark and I are unhurt, except for some sorness and the lady admited fault and had good insurance. The frame rails also seem to be unbent. It could have been much worse. I am bummed because my car was really cherry. 20k orignal miles, always garaged, never driven in the rain, bottom as clean as most peoples paint. I have been working on the car for the last 5 years, hardly driving it because it has been mostly apart and now it's wrecked right when I am almost done. I feel like I have let all of my readers down. Does anyone know of real good body shops in the southern cali area? Cost is no object. I want the car so good, you won't be able to tell, even if the inner panels are removed. No bondo. Mike
